Curriculum
At The Anchor SENDFriendly Specialist School , we utilise the Equals Curriculum, the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, and the National Curriculum to provide a comprehensive and inclusive educational experience for our students. We understand that every child is different and they work in thier own unique way and at their own pace. Therefore, we carry out baseline assessments to establish what level the children are at and we use observations to understand what they like and how they like to learn. We then create an Individualised Learning Plan for each child using a mix of all the Curriculums and we adapt this when need to suit the children. Below is an overview of each of the Curriculums we use.
EQUALS Curriculum
A specialist semi-formal curriculum designed for students with complex learning needs, focusing on life skills and independence.
National Curriculum
A broad and balanced academic program, adapted to meet individual needs while covering key national subject standards.
EYFS Curriculum
The Early Years Foundation Stage framework, supporting our youngest learners through child-initiated play and development.
