Our Therapies
At TAS, we are dedicated to providing comprehensive on-site therapies that benefit both our children and staff. This integrated approach allows for regular monitoring and assessment, ensuring that interventions are effectively implemented and that our staff receive continuous training and support. With therapists readily available, we can easily seek advice and make new referrals as needed, fostering a collaborative environment. Regular meetings with all therapists ensure a unified approach, discussing the needs and progress of the children on their caseloads. We are excited about the new academic year and the expanded support we will offer to our children and families.
Positive Support Group

Play Therapy
Play Therapy is a new service we are introducing this year. Play therapists for children with special educational needs (SEN) use play-based techniques to help children express their emotions, develop social skills, and improve cognitive and physical abilities. The therapists will create a safe and supportive environment where our children can explore their feelings and experiences through play, which is a natural medium for communication and learning. By engaging in therapeutic play, our children with SEN can work through challenges such as anxiety, behavioral issues, and trauma, while also enhancing their emotional regulation and self-esteem. The play therapists will collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals to integrate therapeutic strategies into the children’s daily routine and provide comprehensive support. Their goal is to foster the child’s overall development and well-being, making it easier for them to thrive in various settings

Music Therapy
Another new therapy to be introduced is Music Therapy. We are going to have 2 Music Therapist working each week across both of our sites. Music therapy for children with special educational needs (SEN) leverages the therapeutic power of music to address cognitive, emotional, social, and physical challenges. Through activities such as singing, playing instruments, and listening to music, children can express themselves, improve communication skills, and enhance their sensory and motor functions. Our Music therapists will tailor sessions to each child’s individual needs, creating a supportive and engaging environment that fosters learning and development. This form of therapy can help reduce anxiety, improve mood, and build self-confidence, while also promoting social interaction and emotional regulation. By collaborating with parents, and other professionals, our music therapists will integrate musical interventions into the child’s daily routine, contributing to a holistic approach to their growth and well-being

Counselling for children with special educational needs (SEN) provides vital support to help them navigate emotional, social, and behavioral challenges. Our Counsellors will work closely with these children to create a safe and trusting environment where they can express their feelings, build self-awareness, and develop coping strategies. Tailored to each child’s unique needs, the counselling sessions may address issues such as anxiety, depression, social skills deficits, and low self-esteem. By employing various therapeutic techniques, our counsellors will help our children improve their emotional regulation, enhance their social interactions, and boost their overall well-being. Collaboration with parents and other professionals will ensure a comprehensive support system, integrating therapeutic insights into the child’s daily life to foster resilience and personal growth.
