Nursery
Nursery Overview
Our nursery provides a nurturing and stimulating environment for children aged 2 and above. We are dedicated to supporting each child's development through a combination of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum and the Specialist EQUALS curriculum, ensuring a well-rounded and inclusive approach to early education. More details about these curriculums can be found on our curriculum page.
Personalised Learning and Assessment
Every child in our nursery undergoes a baseline assessment upon joining, which helps us create a Personalised Learning Plan (PLP) tailored to their individual needs. These PLPs are continually monitored and assessed through daily observations, ensuring that each child’s development is closely tracked and supported. Activities are carefully designed to meet the unique needs of each child, promoting their growth and learning in a way that suits them best.
Specialised Facilities
Our nursery is equipped with specialised facilities to enhance the learning and sensory experiences of our children. These include:
- Immersion Room: A space designed to immerse children in interactive learning experiences that stimulate their senses and creativity. Along with sensory lighting and a projector to which we project calming videos and images along with calming music to help regulate the children if needed.
- Sensory Room: A calming environment filled with sensory-rich activities that help children explore and understand the world around them. They can carry out sensory circuits in here as well have a space to use if they need some time by themselves or a quiet space to relax.
- Ball Pit Room: A fun and engaging area that supports physical development, coordination, and sensory play. This is also fitted with sensory lighting to which the children can control from the ball pit and a trampoline.
Support for EHCP Process
Our Nursery Management Team is highly experienced in supporting families through the referral and Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) process. We work closely with parents and professionals to ensure that each child receives the appropriate support and provision in their EHCP. These plans are regularly reviewed and adapted to reflect each child’s progress and evolving needs, ensuring they continue to receive the best possible support.
Parent Engagement through Tapestry
We use Tapestry, an online learning journal, to log daily observations and track each child’s progress. Parents have access to Tapestry at home, allowing them to stay connected with their child’s development and participate actively in their learning journey.
Outdoor Play
Our nursery offers a well-equipped outdoor area where children can engage in a variety of physical activities. They have access to climbing equipment, sand and water play, and other outdoor experiences that promote physical development, social interaction, and exploration.
