The Anchor SENDFriendly Centre (TAS) is an independent facility dedicated to serving young individuals from 0 to 25 years old with special educational needs and disabilities (S.E.N.D). TAS places a strong emphasis on creating a secure and enriching environment that integrates various aspects of development—communication/language, personal, social, emotional, and physical—for these individuals. This includes organizing stimulating activities both within the facility and in external settings to encourage positive outcomes for each person under their care.

We are seeking dynamic and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioners with a genuine passion for students with special educational needs. As a Nursery Practitioner, you will have the opportunity to deliver creative and individualised teaching to support our students in their personal, social, and academic development. You will work closely with a team of experienced professionals, including SENCOs, therapists, and support staff, to ensure a holistic and tailored approach to education.

Your Role

  • Building caring relationships with children, families and your team

  • Creating a fun and engaging learning environment by showing initiative and imagination that inspires those around you

  • Succeeding as a team and with children and parents by effectively communicating and giving feedback

  • Communicating and giving feedback to parents during handovers and through documented development reports

  • Supporting your team members and being a positive role model, who looks to develop and suggest positive changes

Requirements

  • A good knowledge of birth to 5  development and the EYFS curriculum

  • Level 2/3 qualification in Childcare

  • Have a minimum grade 4 or grade C in Maths and English GCSE (or equivalent)

  • The best practice for key person system, safeguarding, health & safety, confidentiality

  • How to safely administer First Aid and critical care policies
